In 2008, the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties is proud to have assisted our cancer patients with over 9,957 services such as: 3,486 cases of nutrition, 515 personal cosmetic aids, 1,353 home care supplies, 712 ostomy supplies and we provided treatment transportation assistance to 204 clients.
Some of the differences we've made over the past several years:
- Supplied over 500 bras and breast prostheses
- Financially assisted over 400 cancer patients with medication
- Provided free cancer screenings to over 400 individuals
- Offered 14,400 counseling sessions and pieces of literature
- Spoken at more than 190 community education classes/talks/health fairs
- Loaned over 130 pieces of medical equipment
- Given out more than 1,130 wigs, hats, turbans and scarves
- Distributed over 7,160 home care and ostomy supplies
- Furnished over 12,790 cases of nutritional supplements
- Issued more than 600 fuel cards for treatment transportation
