Nurturing
One of our goals at the Cancer Association of Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties is to help address the emotional needs of clients with counseling for the cancer patient and family members. The amazing work of the Cancer Association is accomplished through the cooperation of a small staff, dedicated board members, and our hard working volunteers. Our mission is not simply to provide support in the form of supplies and tools, but to nurture cancer patients on an emotional level.
We've seen what cancer can do to people. But we've also seen the remarkable things people are able to do in spite of cancer. Our organization seeks to aid in that battle, and to help our local patients continue living as normally as possible.
Glaydeane S. Lee accepting $34,997.96 for the 2009-2010 Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Upstate Affiliate grant cycle-to provide various services to ladies diagnosed with breast cancer and free screening mammograms in Cherokee County.
